Botswana’s USD 50 Billion Smart City Vision Gains Momentum with Global Partnerships and Ambassadors

Gaborone, Botswana – 8 October 2025:
Botswana today witnessed a historic milestone in its journey toward sustainable industrialization and smart urban growth as the Ghanzi District Council, the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre

(BITC), and the Zotus City Development Group (ZCDG) formally signed the Ceremonial Land Transfer Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the Pula Global Expo 2025. The occasion was
symbolic. It does not yet mark the legal conclusion of our land transfer, but it represents something equally powerful a public covenant of intent.

It is a declaration that Zotus City is not a distant dream, but a living commitment. It is a visible sign to the people of Botswana, and to investors across the globe, that we are aligned in vision and united in
purpose

The signing, conducted under the patronage of His Excellency President Advocate Duma Boko, took place during the official Investment Pledges Session, moderated by the BITC Chief Executive Officer Mr. Keletsositse Olebile, in the presence of Cabinet Ministers, international investors, and diplomatic representatives.

The agreement formally anchors Zotus City, a visionary USD 50 billion Special Economic Zone (SEZ)
development at Junction 44 in Ghanzi, as one of Botswana’s flagship national transformation
projects.
